Housekeeping Assistant

About the role

As a Housekeeping Assistant at Barnet Grange Care Home, you will work as part of a team to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and laundry throughout the facility. You will follow our standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, ensuring that hotel service standards are upheld and that all residents are treated with dignity and respect.

Job responsibilities

• Carry out all cleaning duties in accordance with worksheet instructions.
• Understand cleaning requirements for different surfaces and coverings, and use appropriate cleaning materials to keep areas well presented.
• Maintain laundry processes as per public setting standards.
• Support residents in a respectful and dignified manner, safeguarding their personal space and belongings.

Ideal candidate must have

• Knowledge of Health and Safety, especially Moving and Handling techniques, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.
• Experience cleaning and handling laundry in a public setting.
• Demonstrated compassion and commitment to delivering high quality housekeeping and laundry services to residents.
• Adaptability and flexibility to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a submission to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) to check for any previous convictions. The DBS Disclosure check cost will be met by Avery Healthcare.
