To maintain the high standard of hygiene and cleanliness found throughout our Plymouth based hospital, we have a need for another committed Housekeeper to help ensure the continued clean and fresh atmosphere our patients have come to expect!
Working in line with clearly defined standards which comply with national policies, and company procedures, the Housekeeper will be responsible for providing a high standard of cleaning to clinical and non-clinical areas within the hospital, maintaining day and time record of areas cleaned.
Weekly shift pattern
Mon & Tues 16:00 to 20:00
Sat & Sun - 16:00 to 20:00
As the Housekeeper, you'll look to ensure that all areas of the hospital are cleaned in line with the requirements specified for that particular individual room. It will be a case of mopping floors, dusting and damp wiping all surfaces including walls, doors, windows, handles and switches, as well as internal glassed areas. You will need to uphold the cleanliness of toilet areas including; toilet pans, seats and wash basins.
Through training which will be provided, your housekeeping duties will see you operate varied machinery such as polish and buffer machines, vacuums and laundry machines.
Not only will you look to make sure the wards and the hospital is clean, you will monitor and look for faulty equipment and other potential hazards, ensuring they are made safe or removed and the issue is quickly brought to the attention of the Housekeeping Manager.
What we'll look for in youThe appointed Housekeeper will have come from a very similar background providing that high standard of cleaning. They might well have worked within a clinical or hospital environment in the past!
- Will be an effective communicator at all levels, face to face or via phone conversation.
- Computer literate
- Will have basic knowledge of Health and Safety and COSHH regulations
- Health and safety conscious, possess a keen eye for detail and take pride in your work
