Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Posted 10 hours 46 minutes ago by The Independent Schools Council
Trent College and The Elms are thriving independent schools set in beautiful grounds on the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire border. We provide a flourishing and happy co educational environment for children.
We are recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for Trent College.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our developing Learning Support provision. The person appointed will join an experienced team. Whilst the Heads of Learning Support oversee the Department, some responsibilities are shared amongst members of the Department.
The ideal candidate will have strong English and Numeracy skills and the ability to engage and inspire students across Key Stage 3-5; experience supporting Maths and the Sciences would be advantageous. We are especially looking to hear from candidates with experience of mentoring young people and a solid history of supporting young people with SEMH and Communication & Interaction differences. They will be responsible for developing and implementing effective interventions to promote academic success and wellbeing for our pupils.
We offer a competitive benefits package which includes a generous school fee discount, parking and complimentary use of the excellent leisure and dining facilities.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The school may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants and all applicants will be required to provide details of their online profile, including social media account names/handles, as part of their application.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The school is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are 'spent' unless they are 'protected' under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
