We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Woodmansterne Primary School and Nursery, part of Bourne Education Trust.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you are responsible for providing highly effective, targeted support and care to pupils, working under the guidance of Teachers and Senior Leaders. You play a key role in raising standards of achievement by helping pupils to become confident and independent learners. You ensure the effective support of pupil welfare and the inclusion of all pupils in every aspect of school life, in line with school and Trust policies. In doing so, you promote the ethos and values of the school and the Bourne Education Trust, contributing to the highest possible standards of conduct, equity of opportunity, and pupil success.

Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Start Date: ASAP

Key responsibilities
  • Working as part of a team, under the direction of the responsible Nursery Teacher, support teaching provision, development and implementation of learning for pupils
  • Under the guidance of the Nursery Teacher, facilitate the learning of individual pupils and groups, setting high expectations and promoting positive attitudes to learning
  • Prepare, plan and deliver specific intervention programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil response and need
Requirements
  • Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent appropriate qualification)
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant Qualification, or willingness to undertake qualification
