HGV Class 2 Driver - Night Shifts - Shunting/Trunking

We're hiring a Class 2 HGV Driver for night work, handling shunting duties with the occasional trunk run into Cornwall. Based out of Newton Abbot, this is an ad-hoc role, ideal for someone who likes their nights quiet, their routes familiar, and their paperwork clean.

You'll be working with a professional team and a local operation that knows what it's doing. If you've done this kind of work before, you'll know the drill. If not, we'll help you settle in fast.

Salary
£18.49 per hour PAYE Advanced (night rate) Weekly Pay Sunday-Friday, starting between 10pm & 12am

Key Responsibilities

Shunt trailers and vehicles between local depots

Occasionally run into Cornwall and back during night shifts

Communicate with the night controller to keep operations flowing

Complete pre-use checks and paperwork without needing to be chased

Qualifications Essential:

Class 2 HGV (Cat C) licence

Valid CPC and Digi Tachograph card

Confidence driving at night and working unsupervised

Desirable:

Previous experience with shunting or trunking work

A steady hand and a calm head when reversing in tight yards
