Health Care Assistant

On behalf of our client in public health, we are now recruiting Health Care Assistants to join a new residential and day care service for people with an intellectual disability. These are long-term temporary contracts, with part-time and full time positions available.

The ideal candidate will have: Qualifications & Experience:

• QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or Social Care Worker qualification.
• Experience and understanding of supporting people with intellectual disabilities.
• Knowledge and hands on experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
• Training in Positive Behaviour Support and Safe Medication Management essential.
• Experience working in residential care, special care units, or ASD units.
• Understanding of the Health Act 2007 and the legislative framework governing residential services for people with disabilities.

Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Fluent in English with clear communication skills.
• Able to follow instructions from management and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
• Flexible and willing to assist with personal care, household duties, and other care related tasks.
• Accurate and timely documentation of care in line with care plans.
• Commitment to attending staff meetings with the Person in Charge (PIC) as scheduled.
