Job Description
Birmingham Temp - Perm £35,000 DOE 37.5 hours a week (early finish Friday) Overview

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Health & Safety professional to play a key role in maintaining and improving health, safety, and compliance standards across the business.

The successful candidate will be IOSH qualified, possess extensive Health & Safety experience, and demonstrate a proactive approach to promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise management and employees on all Health & Safety matters.
  • Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Develop, review, and update Health & Safety policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and employee training where required.
  • Monitor and maintain Health & Safety records and compliance documentation.
  • Liaise with external agencies, auditors, and regulatory bodies when necessary.
  • Support managers in implementing corrective and preventative actions.
  • Promote a strong Health & Safety culture across all departments.
Candidate Requirements Essential
  • IOSH qualification (Managing Safely, Technical Membership, or higher).
  • Several years' proven experience in a Health & Safety Advisor or similar role.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and accident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
  • Strong organisational and report-writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable
  • NEBOSH qualification.
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, construction, logistics, or industrial environments.
  • Internal auditing experience.
