Job Description
Birmingham Temp - Perm £35,000 DOE 37.5 hours a week (early finish Friday) Overview 
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Health & Safety professional to play a key role in maintaining and improving health, safety, and compliance standards across the business.
The successful candidate will be IOSH qualified, possess extensive Health & Safety experience, and demonstrate a proactive approach to promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Advise management and employees on all Health & Safety matters.
- Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports and recommendations.
- Develop, review, and update Health & Safety policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and employee training where required.
- Monitor and maintain Health & Safety records and compliance documentation.
- Liaise with external agencies, auditors, and regulatory bodies when necessary.
- Support managers in implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Promote a strong Health & Safety culture across all departments.
- IOSH qualification (Managing Safely, Technical Membership, or higher).
- Several years' proven experience in a Health & Safety Advisor or similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and accident investigations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Strong organisational and report-writing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- NEBOSH qualification.
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering, construction, logistics, or industrial environments.
- Internal auditing experience.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Confident in challenging unsafe practices where necessary.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to compliance.
- Professional and approachable manner.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Competitive salary of approximately £35,000 per annum.
