The OpportunityThis is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and growing business as a Health & Safety Advisor, supporting compliance and driving continuous improvement across the organisation. You will play a hands on role in promoting a strong safety culture while developing your expertise within a supportive and progressive environment.
The Role- Provide clear, practical advice, guidance and support to managers and employees on all aspects of Health & Safety compliance.
- Deliver Health & Safety training on our T100 system where appropriate and identify additional training needs across the business.
- Lead accident and near miss investigations, ensuring accurate reporting, identification of root causes, and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Maintain accurate records and produce reports using company computerised systems.
- Conduct regular site walkarounds and inspections, deliver toolbox talks, and actively promote a culture of proactive risk management and incident prevention.
- Create, review and update company Health & Safety policies, procedures and documentation in line with current UK legislation and company standards.
- Develop, review and maintain risk assessments as required across all areas of the operation.
- Manage PPE provision, checks and record keeping, ensuring compliance and suitability.
- Oversee routine monthly and quarterly compliance checks, including ladders, emergency lighting, first aid boxes, internal and external fire doors, and glass/plastic controls within warehouse areas.
- Maintain accurate records for sites across the wider Group for all statutory inspections, servicing and compliance documentation.
- Support and prepare sites across the wider Group ahead of the annual Health & Safety audit.
- Contribute to the coordination and delivery of the annual Health & Safety audit across all offices.
- Create and maintain Health & Safety training materials and records within the company system.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Health & Safety processes, systems and procedures across the organisation.
- Build positive working relationships with managers and employees to promote a strong safety culture.
In this key role, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy while also contributing effectively as part of the Health & Safety team. You will be responsible for monitoring all aspects of Health & Safety across the operation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, achieving key performance targets, and continuously improving systems and controls to meet evolving operational and legislative needs.
We are seeking an individual with relevant Health & Safety training and qualifications (or working towards them), supported by solid operational experience. You will be proactive, commercially aware, and motivated to further develop your expertise while adding measurable value to the business.
You will demonstrate strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and manage tasks, investigations, and projects through to successful completion - without negatively impacting operational performance.
A flexible approach to working hours will occasionally be required to meet the needs of the business.
