The Green Spaces Service (SEVE), which has about 250 staff, is responsible for the management and sustainable development of the greenery in the City of Geneva, in the interest of the community. Your mission and responsibilities - Lead the Green Spaces Service (SEVE) and oversee all its legal, financial, and managerial activities. - Promote the environmental policy of the City of Geneva. - Defend, within the political framework, the decisions and actions of the service. - Represent SEVE before political commissions as well as public and private organizations. - Define, deploy, and ensure the coherence of the service with municipal policies and the goals set by the Council regarding biodiversity. - Embody a key role as an advocate for a sustainable city. - Inspire, mobilize, and unite teams as well as the various instances of DFEL with assertive leadership. - Ensure a clear, coherent, and effective management of actions. Profile - Hold a diploma in landscape architecture, environmental management, or an equivalent field. - Have confirmed experience in a management position, including overseeing complex projects, developing work methods, and managing multidisciplinary teams of significant size. - Master the laws in force at the municipal, cantonal, and federal levels related to the management of green spaces and trees. - Demonstrate an ability to initiate and support change dynamically, with a sustainable vision oriented towards public interest. - Possess excellent prioritization and decision-making skills, as well as rigor in managing activities and resources. - Show a strong sensitivity to environmental issues and be comfortable in institutional contexts and public speaking with diverse audiences, along with a developed political sense.
