The FOX & HOUNDS is a high volume restaurant and bar in the heart of Houston, known for authentic, fresh ingredients, great selection of ales and whiskys across its bars and the annual Houston Music Festival.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and a proven track record in food production and volume kitchen management.

As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Your leadership will inspire the team to deliver exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Duties

Supervise and manage kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards.
Develop and implement innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in compliance with health regulations.
Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as necessary to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and team management skills.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Conduct regular quality checks on dishes before they are served to guests.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
Demonstrated supervisory experience, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership qualities, with excellent communication skills for effective team management.
Previous experience in restaurant settings is highly desirable.
