Ground Maintenance Operative (Gardener) Penge, London 3 Months Temp to Perm 35 Hours £14.78 PAYE Per Hour inc Holiday £19.15 Per Hour Umbrella LTD

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Carrying out general grounds maintenance and gardening duties across housing estates and communal areas.
• Grass cutting using pedestrian and ride-on mowers where required.
• Strimming grass, weeds and overgrown vegetation around paths, kerbs, fencing and communal areas.
• Edging grassed areas and maintaining neat borders around pathways and landscaped areas.
• Cutting, trimming and shaping hedges and shrubs to maintain a tidy and well-presented appearance.
• Pruning and cutting back overgrown vegetation, bushes and low-level branches.
• Clearing leaves, weeds, branches and other garden waste from communal areas.
• Keeping pathways, roads, entrances and communal areas clear of litter and debris.
• Carrying out general weeding and maintenance of planted and landscaped areas.
• Supporting with seasonal grounds maintenance activities throughout the year.
• Removing green waste and general debris and ensuring work areas are left clean and safe.
• Identifying and reporting damaged pathways, fencing, street furniture, vegetation or other estate-related issues.
• Working safely around members of the public, residents, pedestrians and vehicles.
• Using grounds maintenance machinery, tools and equipment safely and responsibly.
• Carrying out daily checks of tools, equipment and vehicles and reporting any defects.
• Following relevant health and safety procedures, risk assessments and safe working practices.
• Working collaboratively with other members of the Grounds Maintenance Team to complete scheduled works.
• Providing a professional and courteous service when working on residential estates and communal areas.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience working in a Ground Maintenance, Gardening, Landscaping or similar outdoor environment .
• Practical experience using equipment such as strimmers, hedge cutters, lawnmowers and other grounds maintenance tools .
• Good understanding of general grounds maintenance and horticultural practices.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and undertake physically demanding duties.
• Health and safety conscious with a responsible approach to working around the public.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential for this position, as a Company Van will be provided.

Working hours are Monday to Friday working a total of 35 hours weekly from 8am till 4pm.
