Financial Controller - Hereford - Rapidly growing business - Looking for a hands-on Controller

My client is a reputable family-owned and well-established manufacturing business based in Hereford.

About the Role
We're looking for a proactive and detail-driven Financial Controller to lead our finance operations and support strategic decision-making in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This is a hands-on role where you'll manage a small finance team and take ownership of financial reporting, compliance, and controls across the group.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the Finance department, including AP and Management Accountants.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, board packs, and weekly trading reports.
• Deliver consolidated group accounts and manage year-end close with auditors.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Ensure compliance with HMRC (VAT, corporate tax, PSA, P11D).
• Manage treasury and cash flow, optimise payment terms.
• Conduct internal audits and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide customer profitability analysis and support non-finance budget holders.
• Oversee purchase ledger and trading agreements.
• Develop and mentor the finance team to create a high-performing environment.

• Qualified accountant (QBE would be considered)
• Proven experience in a similar role
