My client is a reputable family-owned and well-established manufacturing business based in Hereford.
About the Role
We're looking for a proactive and detail-driven Financial Controller to lead our finance operations and support strategic decision-making in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This is a hands-on role where you'll manage a small finance team and take ownership of financial reporting, compliance, and controls across the group.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations of the Finance department, including AP and Management Accountants.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, board packs, and weekly trading reports.
- Deliver consolidated group accounts and manage year-end close with auditors.
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Ensure compliance with HMRC (VAT, corporate tax, PSA, P11D).
- Manage treasury and cash flow, optimise payment terms.
- Conduct internal audits and drive continuous improvement.
- Provide customer profitability analysis and support non-finance budget holders.
- Oversee purchase ledger and trading agreements.
- Develop and mentor the finance team to create a high-performing environment.

- Qualified accountant (QBE would be considered)
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong prioritisation skills
