Service Engineer - Food Industry Machinery
Salary: £60,000 OTE
Permanent, Full Time Regionally based role: North England
A leading global FMCG business is seeking a hands-on Field Service Engineer to join its growing technical team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, repair, and maintenance of high-performance food processing and packaging machinery across a regional customer base. You'll play a key role in delivering technical excellence and ensuring that equipment performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction are consistently upheld.

- Install, commission, repair and maintain a wide range of market-leading food industry equipment
- Deliver high-quality technical support to customers, both on-site and remotely
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Read and interpret detailed electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics
- Document service visits accurately and communicate effectively with internal teams and clients
- Provide training and support to customer operators and maintenance teams
- Ensure all work meets health, safety, and compliance standards
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction initiatives
- Qualified multi-skilled engineer with 5 years of post-apprenticeship experience
- 2-4 years of field service experience, ideally within the FMCG or food production sectors
- Electro-mechanical background (apprenticeship or equivalent) preferred
- Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and motor control systems
- Experience with PLCs and Ladder Logic is advantageous
- Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation
- Full, valid UK driving licence required
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused, 'can-do' attitude
