Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is seeking a 9 month, full time Philosophy Instructor. As a faculty member of the Communication, Foreign Languages, and Humanities department, instructional assignments are during the day and/or evening at any of our campuses: Salisbury (North), Concord (South or CBTC), Kannapolis (College Station or NCRC). The candidate will participate in committees, complete administrative tasks related to transfer advising and student retention, meet all annual professional development requirements, and meet college and department deadlines. Responsibilities include QM certification of PHI course(s) and serving as a faculty partner (mentor) to PHI adjunct faculty. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Required Education/Experience:
- Master's degree or higher in Philosophy or Ethics; or master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in related coursework with Philosophy and/or Ethics in the graduate course description.

- Successfully prepare, manage, and deliver course content to achieve objectives, accommodate diverse learning styles, and meet student learning outcomes.
- Actively engage students and provide prompt feedback in an objective, respectful, and effective manner.
- Update, communicate, and follow course syllabus content per directions and administrative guidance.
- Work collaboratively with the College's support services to identify and address students' academic support needs.
- Utilize College technology for instruction and operational processes - including the learning management system, email and calendaring solutions, document management systems, student information system, and employee portals.
- Meet deadlines, including maintaining and submitting accurate class records, employee records/requests, and other assigned tasks.
- When applicable, ensure laboratories are appropriately stocked with required supplies and equipment is safe.
- Support student mentoring, advising, registration, and recruitment efforts as appropriate or required.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance and apply knowledge and skills within the discipline and maintain licensures as applicable.
- Facilitate a positive, student centered, and professional environment among students, faculty, and staff.
- Participate in College meetings, events, and committees as appropriate or required.
- Attend and participate in the annual graduation ceremony.
