The Role - EYFS Teaching Assistant (Rotherham Primary School)

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support teaching and learning within Nursery or Reception

  • Deliver engaging, play-based learning activities alongside the class teacher

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support, including for children with SEND

  • Support early phonics, communication, and early maths development

  • Help create a stimulating and safe indoor and outdoor learning environment

  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour

  • Observe and record pupil progress in line with the EYFS Framework

You will play a vital role in helping children feel safe, valued, and excited about learning.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant in Rotherham who:

  • Has experience working in Early Years or a primary school setting

  • Understands the EYFS Framework and child development principles

  • Is patient, nurturing, and energetic

  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification (desirable)

  • Has an enhanced DBS certificate (or is willing to obtain one)

Experience supporting speech and language needs or children with additional needs is highly desirable.
