Teaching Assistant - SEMH

Milk Education are working with a number of welcoming primary schools across Bradford who are seeking caring, resilient, and empathetic Learning Support Assistants to support pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.
These roles are highly rewarding and suited to individuals who understand the importance of consistency, trust, and emotional safety. You will play a key role in helping pupils feel secure, regulated, and ready to engage with learning, while working closely with school staff and external professionals.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (full-time roles available)

- A clear understanding of professional boundaries and safeguarding responsibilitiesTwo recent references (work or education-based)
- Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement with learning
- Creating predictable, nurturing environments where pupils feel safe and understood
- Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and safeguarding teams
- Supporting transitions, routines, and positive behaviour strategies
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and emotional resilience
- Being a consistent, reliable, and positive role model
This role would suit someone with experience in education, youth work, care, psychology, or social care - or someone with strong transferable skills and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children.
