Examiner - GCSE - Psychology (2017 Specification)

A GCSE Psychology (2017 specification) Examiner will mark candidates' responses in accordance with the pre-defined mark scheme, adhering to conditions of recognition and examination procedures. Most subjects will be marked onscreen using ePEN, which can be done from home. A few subjects are still marked in the traditional method, using paper scripts sent through the post. A high level of subject knowledge is necessary to apply the mark scheme. Each examiner will receive an agreed allocation of scripts.

Responsibilities

1. Mark accurately and consistently to maintain overall standards.
2. Submit samples to your Team Leader at designated times.
3. Adhere to milestones for marking.
4. Complete all administration as specified.

Experience/Qualifications Needed

• One academic year's teaching experience within the last 8 years in the relevant qualification and subject, or
• Lecturing experience within the last 8 years in the relevant subject.

• Degree or equivalent.
• Qualified teacher status.

We will consider applicants with a psychology degree but teaching experience in a different subject.

Competencies Required

• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• High subject knowledge to apply the mark scheme effectively.

Additional Information

• Marking period: May - July.
• Training for marking: May - June.
