SEN English Teacher in Sheffield (S2)
About the roleAn SEN English Teacher who delivers engaging and differentiated English lessons to students with a range of special educational needs. Responsibilities include developing literacy skills, confidence, and communication while creating a safe and structured learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Differentiated Teaching: Plan and deliver tailored English lessons for individual SEN students.
- Literacy Development: Support pupils in reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Behaviour Support: Implement positive behaviour management strategies.
- Progress Monitoring: Assess and track student progress, adapting methods as needed.
- Collaboration: Work with support staff, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience working with SEN students, ideally in specialist or alternative provision.
- Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
- Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
- Competitive daily rate of £150 £230, depending on experience.
