Job Description

Binnies UK, part of the RSK Group, is recruiting talented engineers for our growing Delivery business across the UK. Our teams consult, deliver, and manage Critical Human Infrastructure projects in the Water and Wastewater industries both domestically and internationally. Join us to work on a variety of challenging engineering projects within a collaborative and supportive environment.

We are seeking EICA Design Engineers to work on clean water and wastewater schemes, delivering engineering solutions from concept to detailed design for construction.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading teams of electrical engineers to produce engineering deliverables such as single line diagrams, cable block diagrams, control system architecture drawings, load schedules, MCC datasheets, equipment and material selection, enquiry documentation, datasheets, schedules, and reports.
  2. Serving as a technical specialist with knowledge and expertise.
  3. Ensuring compliance with in-house procedural and quality systems.
  4. Coordinating the development of multidisciplinary deliverables like P&IDs.
  5. Managing design interfaces with other disciplines and integrating EICA design elements into the overall project design.
  6. Collaborating closely with project teams, other engineering disciplines, project managers, estimating teams, site and commissioning teams, CAD, joint venture partners, and clients.
  7. Undertaking technical bid assessments, subcontractor design reviews, and providing technical support on-site.
  8. Providing technical guidance and supervision to project teams.
  9. Undertaking supervisory responsibilities, including performance management and professional development support.
  10. Managing budgets, schedules, and quality requirements for electrical teams.

The role is suitable for candidates with strong technical skills, commercial awareness, and a background in Electrical Engineering within the water or related industries. Candidates should possess and demonstrate:

  1. Experience in clean water and wastewater engineering systems design, including equipment specification, electrical power systems, water treatment control systems, plant layout, and related disciplines.
  2. Knowledge of electrical power systems or water treatment control systems, integrated system design, manufacturing processes, testing, commissioning, procurement, codes and practices, CDM, environmental management, planning, and document control.
  3. A degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field.
  4. Several years of relevant work experience.
  5. Enthusiasm, adaptability, and a drive to deliver efficient engineering solutions.
  6. Self-motivation and leadership skills to guide teams to deliver on time and within budget.
  7. Excellent communication skills and high computer literacy.
  8. Professional qualifications (IEng / CEng MIET).
  9. Leadership qualities that foster strong teams.
  10. A commitment to continuous improvement, mentoring, career development, and industry awareness.
