Disability Support Worker

Role: Casual - as and when required

Location: Hastings

Hourly Rate: $24.28 per hour

The Disability Support Worker is used to provide specific learning related support services (according to the need) to tauira with impairment(s). In this role, you will:

• Typing, note taking, and helping them engage with learning materials and online tasks
• Coaching them to break down assignments and understand academic requirements
• Strengthening their skills in independent planning and time management
• Encouraging meaningful connections with Kaiako (teachers), peers, Tauira Services, and the wider learning environment

We are looking for someone who has the following:

• A tertiary qualification, preferably with a qualification above the level of tauira you are supporting
• Previous teaching aid experience preferred
• Experience in a pastoral role, coaching, mentoring, support, or teaching advantageous but not essential

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
