The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the day to day operational management of the hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational efficiency, revenue optimization, and compliance with company and Leading Hotels of the World standards. The role provides leadership to all operational departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Reservations, Spa, Maintenance, Security, and Guest Services.
Responsibilities- Deliver excellent care to our guests and employees.
- Ensure that all new initiatives are implemented within the agreed time frame.
- Maintain management presence in all operational departments at all times.
- Act on guest feedback promptly, ensuring relevant people are informed and preventative actions are taken.
- Monitor departmental purchasing and costs, ensuring spend aligns with budgets and purchasing procedures.
- Achieve departmental sales targets in line with the hotel budget.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to hotel guests and to cover the General Manager as required.
- Provide support in other areas of the hotel as needed.
- Assist in recruitment and selection of all operational managers.
- Appraise managers following agreed appraisal procedures (mid year and year end).
- Identify and develop key team members, creating a succession plan in conjunction with People and Culture.
- Ensure all team members have a full knowledge and understanding of Anantara brand standards, Leading Hotels of the World Quality Assurance targets, and consistently deliver the highest quality standards to guests.
- Ensure weekly departmental payroll forecasting is completed and rosters are in line with budget.
- Control departmental costs to stay within budget.
- Review projected maintenance accounts weekly.
- Keep all outlets well organized daily for expected business levels.
- Conduct regular HACCP, fire, and health & safety audits.
- Assist in the development and implementation of capital expenditure plans.
- Ensure all deadlines are agreed upon and adhered to.
- Ensure departments are familiar with cash handling, credit policy, and that all controls are in place and adhered to.
- Prior experience as a Division Head in a 5 star hotel is required.
- Knowledge of Thai culture will be valued.
