Kenny Recruit are working with a growing tax firm who are looking to offer a UK corporate accounting and tax service, in addition to their individual tax services. We're looking for a qualified accountant who can take ownership of accounting and compliance processes whilst helping shape and build a new function for the business. In essence, this is a start up accoutancy firm but with ready made clients and a ready to go infrastructure.
This is a rare opportunity to create something from the ground up within an established and respected firm - bringing their ethos of personal and proactive services into the world of corporate accounting, tax compliance, payroll, and bookkeeping.
You'll be the architect of this new offering: setting up systems, shaping processes, and delivering high-quality work to their existing client base and beyond. This will be your baby! It is the perfect opportunity for someone who wishes to remain in public practice but wants to build something of their own.
Pay: £80,000 - £100,000 (dependant on experience) + benefits + performance-based bonus
Location: Central London. 3 days in the office required
Working hours: 9:00am - 5.30pm
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Launch
- Define the scope, services, and target clients for the company's accounting line.
- Build end-to-end workflows for accounts preparation, corporation tax, payroll, and bookkeeping.
- Establish compliant, scalable processes, pricing tiers, and automation opportunities.
Client Delivery & Oversight
- Prepare, review, and quality-assure statutory accounts, tax returns, and payroll.
- Provide technical support for UK limited company clients, including cross-border considerations.
- Maintain review protocols and filing calendars to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Compliance & Team Leadership
- Lead ICAEW compliance, AML, and data protection policies.
- Hire and manage staff or contractors as the service line grows.
- Collaborate with US CPAs and external specialists to deliver integrated client solutions.
Internal Integration
- Partner with personal tax teams for seamless client journeys.
- Integrate workflows into client management systems and onboarding processes.
- Communicate clearly on areas where business and personal finances intersect.
Experience & Skills:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with a valid Practising Certificate.
- Proven experience in UK statutory accounts preparation and corporate tax compliance.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting and payroll software, including Xero, Iris, and similar tools.(Desirable)
- Ideally experienced with cross-border issues, such as US citizens owning UK businesses, branch vs. subsidiary structures, and basic transfer pricing.
- A builder mindset - comfortable creating structure, processes, and systems from scratch.
- Compliance-focused yet commercially aware, balancing accuracy with practical business considerations.
- Exceptional communicator capable of building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
