Job Description

Engineering Technician - Weekend Day Shift (Technician 1-3 levels)

Shift Pattern

Work 12 hour day shifts on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and alternate Thursdays, following a repeating 4 on/3 off - 3 on/4 off schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to equipment engineers for improvement, installation, validation, and transfer of custom automated equipment in the scale up of Dexcom products.
  • Support cross functional equipment deployment teams and collaborate with outside suppliers to meet equipment specifications and timelines.
  • Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, layouts, and written instructions to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting of electro mechanical assemblies.
  • Operate, test, and maintain robotic equipment and vision systems; analyse and document test results.
  • Conduct operational testing and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment.
  • Assist in equipment development activities under project engineer supervision, including assembly, testing, and validation of equipment, fixtures, processes, and electronics.
  • Prepare routine reports, pass downs, and correspondence; update manuals, drawings, and specifications as needed.
  • Follow Dexcom's Safety and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) program and other safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
Qualifications
  • Level 6/7 technical qualification.
  • 0-2 years of related experience for Technician1; 2-4 years for Technician2; 4-6 years for Technician3.
  • Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical documentation.
  • Experience with pneumatic, electromechanical, PLC, robotic, and vision systems in a high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Hands on experience with process improvement projects, including yield improvement and downtime reduction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present information to supervisors, engineers, and managers.
  • Knowledge of high reliability, high volume manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Technical writing skills for creating and revising manufacturing documentation and process development documents.
