Deputy Nursing Manager - OPD Outpatients Private Hospital Permanent, Full-time Southampton
Spire Southampton Hospital are looking for an experienced Deputy Nursing Manager for our Outpatient Service. The Deputy Outpatient Manager will be responsible for supporting the Manager in ensuring delivery of high quality and efficient outpatient services, delivering key quality performance and financial plans and service enhancements. You will also be expected to cover clinical work and managerial responsibilities within the working role.

Main duties of the job- Assist the Outpatient Manager in the management and development of the outpatient services.
- Assist in the operational delivery of outpatients services against Spire key performance indicators, ensuring the efficient running of the department; this will include clinical work in the department.
- Challenge behaviours that do not support Spire Purpose and values and equally demonstrate and support behaviours that show leadership and purpose.
- Ensure that all patient information is provided, received and recorded in accordance with the Data Protection Act and Spire policies.
- Promote best practice in health & safety and security.
- Promote peoples equality, diversity and rights.
- Apply correct use of Information technology
- Seek and employ innovative methods of improving service delivery in line with the 5 CQC Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOE); always aiming to achieve Good and Outstanding.
- Adhere to all relevant healthcare standards and manage issues of governance and risk effectively when the manager is not available or has designated ownership.
- Assist with audits/reviews of the departments and their performance in discussion with the manager.
- Promote and maintain a close working relationship with external organisations to ensure standardisation and sharing of best practice.
- To ensure that Clinical Governance and risk management are embedded within daily practice.
- Carry out any other duty that reasonably falls within the general nature and level of responsibility of the post

Job responsibilitiesWho we're looking for:
- Relevant Diploma or Degree
- NMC Registration
- Previous experience in an outpatients department at a senior level.
- Experience of working unsupervised.
- Experience of leading a team.
- Ability to manage, motivate, support, develop and lead the department
- A focus on positive patient and user experience
- Able to work cohesively across clinical teams
- Competent across a range of clinical management and leadership skills
- Performance monitoring and reporting capabilities
- Knowledge of appropriate standards and external bodies, such as the Care Quality Commission
- Auditing skills across clinical standards and departments
- Ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives
