The Royal Navy is undergoing a digital transformation to become a data-driven organisation. Navy Digital, a newly established Directorate, is at the forefront of this change, enabling both maritime operations and business support functions through digital, data, and information capabilities. This role supports Navy Digital's mission by ensuring the operational readiness of facilities at Portsdown Technology Park.
Job PurposeThe Deputy Facilities Manager plays a key role in supporting the Facilities Manager in maintaining and optimising the site's infrastructure. This includes managing day-to-day operations, coordinating with contractors, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and deputising in the Facilities Manager's absence.
Key ResponsibilitiesFacilities Operations Support
- Assist in managing daily site operations.
- Liaise with contractors and internal teams for maintenance, cleaning, and security.
- Communicate facility-related updates to stakeholders.
- Monitor service provider performance and ensure contract compliance.
- Support SOP development and updates.
Infrastructure and Space Management
- Assist with office moves, refurbishments, and space optimisation.
- Contribute to long-term estate planning.
Deputising for Facilities Manager
- Act as decision-maker in the Facilities Manager's absence.
- Represent the Facilities Manager in meetings.
Defect Reporting and Resolution
- Serve as the customer interface for defect reporting.
- Conduct inspections and ensure timely resolution of issues.
Contractor and Stakeholder Liaison
- Coordinate with stakeholders
Procurement and Financial Management
- Ensure procurement compliance
Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Support HSEP policy implementation.
- Act as Deputy HSEP Adviser.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits.
SharePoint and Information Management
- Maintain and update the Facilities Management SharePoint area.
