Ifso, an exciting opportunity has arisen within our award-winning FacilitiesOperational Patient Environment team at both the Leeds General InfirmaryHospital and St Jamess University Hospital Sites in Leeds.
Asa Facilities Operational Supervisor, youll play a crucial role in ensuringthe safety and wellbeing of our patients, by operationally Supervising theagreed block/services to ensure the Patient Environment action plan isachieved on time and to the required local and national standards.
Theideal candidate will have some previous experience working within some of thefollowing functions and services, (list not exhaustive.)

Main duties of the jobThesuccessful candidate could be supervising up to 40 staff, at any one time.This role is key in ensuring that all the Cleaning and Patient Cateringservices are delivered to exceptional standards.
TheFacilities Operational Supervisor position provides an ideal opportunity fora highly ambitious, skilled and focussed individual.
Day-to- day duties include: The daily management of staff rotas, including HealthRoster online system, payroll, attendance management, including formalattendance meetings, audits & monitoring, direction & monitoring ofdaily activities, appraisals, acting upon patient feedback and RiskAssessments.
Thesuccessful candidate will be responsible for liaising with both Internal andExternal Key stakeholders, alongside Patients & Visitors.
Manyof the shifts available, follow a 2-week rotational 11-hour shift pattern,which involves working every other weekend.

Job responsibilitiesTheFacilities Operational Supervisor is responsible for the day to daymanagement, allocation and supervision of a large team of Housekeeping,Portering, and Catering Operatives, including any other staffing group thatforms part of the Patient Environment service provision, i.e. front of housereceptions, undertaking tasks associated with the provision of patientcatering, cleaning, and portering. Ensuring that staff are safely allocatedin accordance with the agreed roster and team members carry out their duties,in accordance with laid down relevant procedures, Trust policies and thatstandards are regularly monitored, so that patient environment services aremaintained to a high level standard of service and quality.
Thepost holder will ensure patient movement and flow, across various clinicalservice units, are maintained to support safe patient care. To ensure compliance and staff are workingto Infection Prevention & Control guidance, Trust strategies for patientcatering, cleaning, & portering, including legislative requirements forfood safety, national patient environment standards and to deliver safebaseline and mandated NHS England cleaning standards.

- Dedicated to support the development of a high-quality, efficient service
- Have a range of supervision experience
- Knowledge of Sustainability, Waste Regulations and Carbon Footprint agenda
- Have experiencing of independently leading a team without direct on- site management
- Have an excellent understanding of soft service functions, i.e either, cleaning, catering, and/or portering service delivery.
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Good and confident IT skills including Microsoft Office packages
- CMI (principles of management & leadership), level 3 or equivalent, or ability to achieve when appointed
- Formal Qualifications (CSE/GCSE or equivalent ) at least pass (c or 4 and above) in English , Maths or level 3 in supervision /management
- Level 3 Food Hygiene (to be completed within first 6 months of appointment)
- Undertaken any recent and relevant training required to enhance the delivery of the service
- Lean Working, such as the Leeds Improvement Method
