Reed Accountancy are delighted to be partnered with an established distribution company based in Ballymena in the appointment of an experienced Credit Controller to join their dynamic team!

The successful Credit Controller will be responsible for managing the company's debtor ledger, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, maintaining strong customer relationships, and reducing aged debt exposure. The Credit Controller will play a key part in cash flow management and supporting the wider finance team.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Oversee the full credit control cycle, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices via phone, email, and written correspondence.
• Monitor customer accounts to maintain compliance with agreed credit limits and payment terms.
• Prepare and analyse aged debtor reports, highlighting potential risks to senior management.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies promptly through effective liaison with sales teams.
• Accurately post and allocate incoming payments to customer accounts.
• Generate account statements and issue reminder notices to support collection efforts.
• Assist with month-end close by reconciling debtor balances and ensuring accuracy.
• Escalate high-risk accounts to management and coordinate legal recovery actions when required.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships to encourage timely payments and resolve disputes professionally.
• Provide flexible support to the wider finance team on ad hoc tasks as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in credit control, accounts receivable, and related finance roles.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage challenging conversations professionally.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining financial records.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with financial systems and reporting tools.
