Creative Strategy Lead

You'll join a six-person Creative Strategy leadership team: the Chief Creative Officer, the Head of Creative Strategy, three other Creative Leads, and you. Your remit is cross-departmental rather than pod-specific - you'll coach our Senior Creative Strategists layer to help increase strategic ability, and drive strong performance outcomes for our biggest brands. You will raise the creative quality bar across the pods you manage, and own the craft layer of how the department stays ahead of the game. This is a Creative Lead role with a department-wide focus. You won't own a pod or run an account directly, but 40% of your time is still billable - embedded in the strategic support of up to four senior strategists, coaching their thinking on the accounts they own. The other 60% is split across tier 1 account risk mitigation, departmental training sessions, new-joiner onboarding, and self-development. If you're a creative strategist with 5+ years of experience who has been deep in the trenches and ready to become a leader, has deep craft instincts, and genuine energy for coaching, this is the role where your impact compounds across every client in the book.
Responsibilities- Provide cross-departmental strategic leadership to raise the creative quality bar across pods and own the craft layer to keep the department ahead of trends.
- Coach Senior Creative Strategists and guide their thinking on the accounts they own, supporting up to four strategists with strategic mentorship.
- Contribute to tier 1 account risk mitigation and participate in departmental training, new-joiner onboarding, and ongoing self-development.
- 5+ years in Creative Strategy in a performance creative agency, growth team, or DTC brand-side environment.
- Deep performance creative expertise - ability to dissect a winning Meta ad in 30 seconds and explain exactly why it works.
- Strong growth and paid social fluency - testing structures, scaling logic, persona development, funnel positions, attribution, post-click.
- Coaching mindset - experience coaching strategists or junior creatives into better work with an empowering approach.
- Risk mitigation instinct - ability to reverse-engineer performance bottlenecks with strong audit and insight discipline; simplify complex ideas and delegate effectively.
- Continuous research mindset - regularly scanning trends, competitor work, Reddit, customer behavior and creative patterns (daily).
- Outcome-focused - align every task, framework, and training to a measurable outcome.
- Kind candour - confident in giving direct, honest feedback that empowers others.
- Extreme ownership - demonstrated accountability in all responsibilities.
- AI-literate and tech-enabled - understanding AI's trajectory in creative and marketing, comfortable using AI tools, and leading a team through AI-augmented workflow adoption.
