Job Description

The Opportunity

This is a 14-month engagement , with around 2 days per week on site. You would be working in a highly regulated environment on complex, high-impact projects, where robust cost engineering and forecasting are absolutely critical.

What you would be doing

  • Ensuring the quality and consistency of project cost data by following established procedures and systems
  • Supporting the preparation, monitoring and control of forecasts and budgets, including change control
  • Interrogating systems and measuring performance of actual expenditure, including accruals where needed
  • Producing inputs to cost reports, including trend analysis and early warnings
  • Supporting detailed SPI, CPI variance and root-cause analysis and contributing to recovery plans
  • Helping to create and maintain the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and cost studies using historical data
  • Providing benchmarking data and trended information to support informed project management decisions
  • Reviewing manpower productivity, time bookings and resource usage vs plan, highlighting constraints and supporting solutions

What our client is looking for

  • DV (Developed Vetting) clearance eligible or active.
  • Proven Cost Engineer experience - confident and self-sufficient (not someone who needs to be led through the role)
  • Background in a highly regulated environment (e.g. defence, nuclear, similar)
  • Strong track record in cost analysis, forecasting and performance measurement
  • Ideally, experience in the nuclear sector (desirable, not essential)
