Job Description
The Opportunity
This is a 14-month engagement , with around 2 days per week on site. You would be working in a highly regulated environment on complex, high-impact projects, where robust cost engineering and forecasting are absolutely critical.

What you would be doing
- Ensuring the quality and consistency of project cost data by following established procedures and systems
- Supporting the preparation, monitoring and control of forecasts and budgets, including change control
- Interrogating systems and measuring performance of actual expenditure, including accruals where needed
- Producing inputs to cost reports, including trend analysis and early warnings
- Supporting detailed SPI, CPI variance and root-cause analysis and contributing to recovery plans
- Helping to create and maintain the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and cost studies using historical data
- Providing benchmarking data and trended information to support informed project management decisions
- Reviewing manpower productivity, time bookings and resource usage vs plan, highlighting constraints and supporting solutions
What our client is looking for
- DV (Developed Vetting) clearance eligible or active.
- Proven Cost Engineer experience - confident and self-sufficient (not someone who needs to be led through the role)
- Background in a highly regulated environment (e.g. defence, nuclear, similar)
- Strong track record in cost analysis, forecasting and performance measurement
- Ideally, experience in the nuclear sector (desirable, not essential)
