Cook

We are looking for a dependable and skilled Breakfast Cook & Cake Baker to join our catering team. You will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality breakfast meals & Homemade Sponge Traybakes, ensuring excellent presentation, taste, and timely service. Ideally you will be able to step up and cover the lunch cooking using the recipe cards provided when the Chef is on leave.

Rate of Pay: £13.24 per hour

Hours: 27.5 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (7:30am to 1:30pm)

Location: B&Q, Highworth Road, Swindon, Wiltshire, England, SN3 4QS

• Prepare and cook breakfast dishes in line with menu specifications
• Prepare & Bake high quality Sponge cakes
• Ensure food is ready for service on time and to high standards
• Maintain excellent food hygiene and health & safety practices
• Set up and organise kitchen stations for breakfast service
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering/stock rotation
• Keep the kitchen clean, tidy, and well-organised
• Work collaboratively with the wider catering team

• Previous cooking experience, ideally in a breakfast or fast-paced kitchen environment
• Knowledge of food safety standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene preferred)
• Ability to work early mornings and manage time effectively
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in food quality
• Positive, reliable, and team-focused attitude
