Control Engineer - Vehicle Function Development
- Location: Eindhoven
- Salary: € 6.000 - € 7.500
- Available within 2 months
The agreement will start with a duration of 6 months, after which an extension is highly likely. The position is initially intended for the long term.
Job Description
As a Control Engineer, you possess expertise in advanced modeling techniques and control theory. You are capable of translating this knowledge into robust algorithms that enable optimal integration and operation of vehicle systems and components. Strong knowledge-or a willingness to acquire expertise-in zero-emission technologies and automotive high-voltage systems is essential.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for the development of control functions, taking ownership of the specification, design, and implementation of energy management systems for electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as driveline functions such as cruise control and start-stop systems.
Your Responsibilities
- Translate customer and system requirements into effective control strategies
- Initiate, coordinate, and report project progress within a multidisciplinary environment
- Design and validate control concepts using SIL, HIL, or RCP, including vehicle-level testing
- Oversee development from concept through to implementation and validation
- Document controller requirements clearly for seamless transition to embedded software teams
You will work closely with various stakeholders including function owners, system architects, test engineers, and suppliers. Your role serves as a critical link in translating technical input into viable and innovative control solutions.
Your Profile
- Master's degree in Automotive, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
- Proven experience in control function development, preferably in automotive contexts
- Proactive mindset and practical, hands-on approach
- In-depth experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and related control toolboxes
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Preferred: Familiarity with SAE J1939 CAN, CAN-FD, Functional Safety, and Cybersecurity
- Preferred: Experience with Doors Next Generation and dSPACE toolchains
