Contract D365 Product Owner | 6 month sabbatical cover | Inside IR35

As part of our collaborative & agile culture, our working week is 4 days in the office and one day remote.

Investec are looking for an experienced senior Dynamics 365 Product Owner to join the D365 Digital & Technology team on a 6 month contract basis, supporting Investec Bank as we undertake a once-in-a-generation transformation to move to a fully cloud native & SaaS technology stack, entirely built on Azure. As part of this transformation, we are heavily leveraging D365 as the backbone of our business processes.

The D365 Digital & Technology team plays the central role in this transformation, both in shaping the blueprint for the future state and the role of D365 in that vision, and also in delivering broad and deep digitalisation, automation and data-driven insights.

The ideal candidate for this role will have strong product expertise in Microsoft Dynamics allied to a deep understanding of the Banking industry, but we will also consider candidates with either a strong Dynamics background or significant Banking knowledge coupled with Product Owner experience

This is a key role that defines and delivers D365 product for an entire business value stream. The incumbent will act as product owner across the full business life cycle from analysis through to business implementation and benefits realisation, working in an exciting, fast-paced, creative and commercial environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Act as the Product Owner throughout the full business life cycle, from analysis to implementation and benefits realisation.
  • Build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including front-line bankers, operations staff, and senior leadership.
  • Conduct comprehensive business analysis, including needs assessment, functional specifications, and process mapping.
  • Facilitate workshops that encourage creative thinking and challenge assumptions.
  • Apply your D365 product expertise to solve business problems and drive digitalisation and automation.
  • Manage business change initiatives, including process definition, colleague engagement, data reviews, and training.
  • Perform technical integration analysis and data mapping.
  • Continuously develop your knowledge of new functionality in Microsoft platforms and stay ahead of industry trends.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven ability to develop and manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels, from junior staff to C-suite executives.
  • Full life cycle experience on CRM programmes within Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Experience in banking (desirable) across various financial products (savings, lending, advisory) and customer segments (individuals, companies).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics configuration and experience working within Agile teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce key analysis artefacts (process maps, functional specifications, user stories).
  • A flexible attitude, critical thinking skills, and the ability to leverage technology to solve business problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with comfort in running workshops and delivering training.

Non-Essential (Desirable) Skills:

  • Dynamics 365 certifications.
  • Hands-on experience with D365 low-code development (eg, UI, workflows).
  • Familiarity with JavaScript and TypeScript frameworks.
  • Basic understanding of SQL databases (SQL Server preferred).
  • Knowledge of the broader Microsoft stack (PowerApps, Power BI, Azure, Office 365) and experience working in fast-paced Agile environments.
