This is a full time permanent position (40 hours).
Role ContextThis post has arisen from the development of the IAU and Acute Medicine department at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The successful candidate will be expected to provide a full range of consultant services as agreed with colleagues.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will share provision of care across the Initial Assessment Unit, Acute Receiving Units, Short Stay Ward, Ambulatory Care and Medical HDU based at the QEUH. NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde allocates full time consultants 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) made up of 8 PAs in Direct Clinical Care (DCC) and 2 core Supporting Professional Activities (SPA) for CPD. The role includes annual appraisal and revalidation as determined by the General Medical Council (GMC). 1 SPA (4 hours) is allocated to this role as well as personal job-planning. The precise allocation of SPA time including involvement in audit, clinical governance, teaching, clinical research, internal routine communication and management meetings as well as appraisal, revalidation, job planning and associate objectives will be agreed with the successful applicant and reviewed subsequently.
