Legal Secretary - Commercial Law, Belfast, Up to £31k
Overview We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to support our clients successful, growing law firm based in Belfast City Centre. The suitable candidate will assist in client-related matters and provide general administrative and personal assistance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with commercial legal experience, particularly in litigation, property, or corporate law who enjoys working in a professional and collaborative environment. Audio typing experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high quality secretarial support to solicitors, including document preparation, correspondence, and file management. Manage diary appointments, client communications, and meeting arrangements. Handle audio typing tasks accurately and efficiently. Undertake general administrative and personal assistance duties as required. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3-4 years' experience as a legal secretary in a medium to large commercial law firm. Strong commercial legal knowledge, ideally in litigation, property, or corporate law. Proficient in audio typing and office software applications. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
What's on Offer
- Salary: £27,000-£31,000 (dependent on experience) Office Hours: 9am-5pm (lunch 1pm-2pm). Holidays: 23 days annual leave plus statutory holidays; office closed between Christmas and New Year (deducted from entitlement). Pension: Workplace pension through Nest (employees may opt out). Training & Development: Comprehensive training provided, including wellbeing programs (nutrition, resilience training, etc.). Career Opportunities: Growing firm with opportunities to take on different roles; annual reviews and objective setting take place each June.
