Job Description
Job responsibilities
  1. Process clinical correspondence (paper, electronic and email) and attach it to the patient record.
  2. Accurately read / code diagnoses, procedures and investigations using SNOMED or appropriate coding systems.
  3. Pass appropriate issues to GPs and other members of the clinical and non clinical team as per agreed practice protocols.
  4. Identify complex or higher risk areas that require input or knowledge from the clinical team (including safeguarding concerns).
  5. Work to agreed practice protocols.
  6. Receive feedback on work, including the workflow audit from the Practice GP Workflow Team Leader.
  7. Develop a close working relationship with the GP Workflow Lead to identify other potential improvements.
  8. Perform additional duties as specified, such as:
    1. Input weekly INR figures from community pharmacy.
    2. Audit workflow letters every 3 months to ensure coding accuracy.
    3. Code "CNB" (child not brought) and report monthly to the safeguarding GP Lead.
    4. Arrange appointment/blood tests if requested on letter text; task reception to arrange if letter requests.
    5. Task Long Term Conditions team if patient requires monitoring bloods; task LTC group if letters require bloods at 3/6/9 months.
    6. Check emails daily, pull workflow emails and allocate other emails to relevant inboxes.
    7. Handle complaint emails: acknowledge then forward to Practice Manager/Assistant Practice Manager.
    8. Provide general office support.
    9. Attend monthly meetings to update on progress.
Person Specification
  • Experience in workflow administration duties.
  • Qualifications: GCSE in Maths & English.
