Job Description
Job responsibilities 
- Process clinical correspondence (paper, electronic and email) and attach it to the patient record.
- Accurately read / code diagnoses, procedures and investigations using SNOMED or appropriate coding systems.
- Pass appropriate issues to GPs and other members of the clinical and non clinical team as per agreed practice protocols.
- Identify complex or higher risk areas that require input or knowledge from the clinical team (including safeguarding concerns).
- Work to agreed practice protocols.
- Receive feedback on work, including the workflow audit from the Practice GP Workflow Team Leader.
- Develop a close working relationship with the GP Workflow Lead to identify other potential improvements.
- Perform additional duties as specified, such as:
- Input weekly INR figures from community pharmacy.
- Audit workflow letters every 3 months to ensure coding accuracy.
- Code "CNB" (child not brought) and report monthly to the safeguarding GP Lead.
- Arrange appointment/blood tests if requested on letter text; task reception to arrange if letter requests.
- Task Long Term Conditions team if patient requires monitoring bloods; task LTC group if letters require bloods at 3/6/9 months.
- Check emails daily, pull workflow emails and allocate other emails to relevant inboxes.
- Handle complaint emails: acknowledge then forward to Practice Manager/Assistant Practice Manager.
- Provide general office support.
- Attend monthly meetings to update on progress.
- Experience in workflow administration duties.
- Qualifications: GCSE in Maths & English.
