Clinical Technologist Medical Equipment Management
We are looking for a keen, enthusiastic individual to join the Clinical Engineering team based at Field Way.
Successful candidates will be expected and trained to repair and maintain a wide range of medical equipment. This post would suit someone with an engineering or technology qualification, ideally with medical knowledge.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the jobThe Clinical Technologist/Medical Engineer will have the ability and experience to handle day to day technical problems and work tasks related to the maintenance, repair, calibration of Medical equipment. The post holder will be expected to deal directly with patients and will on occasions have to communicate equipment related issues to relevant stakeholders, for example clinical colleagues, patients, carers. The post holder will have the skill, ability and breadth of experience and knowledge to be able to deal with the routine and predictable situations that arise, based on a broad foundation from which further skill development will be possible.

Person Specification Qualifications- OND/HNC/HND or BSc qualification in a relevant engineering subject
- Able to meet the requirements for registration at EngTech.
- Able to meet the requirements to join the Register of Clinical Technologists or a HCPC Practitioner
- Have sufficient experience of servicing of electronic/electrical equipment.
- Some experience in applying workshop technology to patient-critical equipment and techniques in healthcare
- Experience of maintaining a wide range of medical equipment.
- General IT skills, working with databases.
- Using hand tools and craft skills.
- Complex problem solving, using a logical process approach
- Technical report writing and communication
- Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
