Client Engineer

For our customer, we are seeking an experienced Microsoft Client Engineer based in Basel

Position: Contractor/labour leasing
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 12 months, with possible extension
Workload: 100%
On-site/Hybrid/Remote: Hybrid - 3 days on-site in Basel- remote work outside Switzerland/Swiss border region is not possible

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Client Engineer (Contractor) to join our IT team in Basel. You will play a key role in the deployment, maintenance, and support of Microsoft-based client infrastructure in a high-performing, enterprise environment. This role is ideal for a self-driven professional with strong technical acumen and a proven track record in managing Microsoft client technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and manage Microsoft-based client solutions (Windows 10/11, Intune, Autopilot, etc.)
• Maintain and optimize enterprise desktop environments, including security and patch management
• Automate client life cycle management using tools like PowerShell, Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), and Configuration Manager (SCCM)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support projects, upgrades, and rollouts
• Troubleshoot and resolve client-side issues efficiently
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and standards

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in a Microsoft Client Engineering role
• Expertise in Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), Autopilot, Azure AD, and SCCM
• Strong Scripting skills (PowerShell preferred)
• Deep understanding of Windows OS deployment and life cycle management
• Experience in large-scale enterprise environments
• Fluent in English; German is a plus
• Must be eligible to work in Switzerland (Swiss/EU passport or valid work permit)

Nice to Have

• Experience in regulated industries (eg, pharma, finance)
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or similar
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, JAMF, or other client management tools
