Springfield House is a Birmingham LA special school.
Our provision is targeted to meet the Special Educational Needs of young people, aged 5-11, who experience Social, Emotional and Mental health difficulties. Our pupils have a wide range of complex conditions, including ASC, ADHD, ACE's and Attachment Disorder. They have also often experienced significant disruption to their education due to multiple school moves, exclusions and periods of part time or no placement in a school.
As a school our aim for all our pupils is to provide a high quality curriculum, that allows our pupils to not simply survive, but thrive in education. We offer individualised support for all our pupils which enables them to learn to value themselves as individuals, as well as develop a sense of themselves in a whole school community and ultimately build the confidence and resilience to allow them to develop a lifelong love of learning.

We are seeking great teachers with a genuine commitment to improving life chances for children with SEND.

The deadline for submission of applications is 9.00am on Thursday 19th March 2026 and interviews will be scheduled for the week beginning Monday 23rd March 2026.
Our school is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and uphold a culture where children feel safe, valued, and supported.
The successful candidate will be required to complete all relevant pre employment checks in line with statutory guidance. These include an enhanced DBS check, prohibition check (where applicable), childcare disqualification declaration (where applicable), verification of qualifications, medical fitness clearance, and confirmation of identity and right to work in the UK.
Applicants will be asked to provide two professional references, which will be sought prior to interview where possible.
As part of our due diligence and safer recruitment procedures, an online search will be conducted for all shortlisted candidates. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and subsequent amendments to the Exceptions Order (1975, 2013 and 2020). Applicants are therefore required to disclose relevant convictions and cautions, except those which are protected under current DBS filtering rules.
In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016), the ability to communicate fluently in spoken English is an essential requirement for this role. Further information regarding the disclosure of criminal records can be found in the official DBS filtering guidance.
