We are now looking for an enthusiastic and talented KS2 Classroom Teacher to join our Junior School team. If you are passionate about inspiring young learners, believe in high expectations and love creating lessons that spark curiosity and confidence, we would be delighted to hear from you.

The Role

As a KS2 Teacher at Akeley Wood, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, high quality teaching across the KS2 curriculum, adapting your approach to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Plan, prepare and assess learning in line with school policies, keeping accurate records of progress, behaviour and achievement.
  • Create a calm, positive and stimulating classroom environment where children feel safe, supported and excited to learn.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, contributing to curriculum development, new initiatives and shared resources.
  • Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils and families, maintaining regular communication and attending key school events.
  • Model the highest standards of professionalism, behaviour and personal conduct.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities, events and clubs.
About You

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Qualified Teacher Status and a recognised teaching degree.
  • Experience teaching in an educational setting, ideally KS2.
  • Strong classroom practice and the ability to teach across a broad curriculum.
  • Excellent organisation, communication and planning skills.
  • Confidence using ICT to enhance teaching, assessment and record keeping.
  • A warm, empathetic and positive approach to building relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
  • A belief in high expectations, continuous improvement and the potential in every child.

Experience in EYFS or KS1, First Aid training or specialisms in specific curriculum areas would be an advantage.
