Children's Home Deputy Manager (SEMH)

Salary: £30,000 - £36,000 per annum
Location: Congleton, CW12
Home: Up to 8-bed Children's Residential Home (SEMH) - currently supporting 4 young people
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Rota: Predominantly office hours with flexibility to support the home when required

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and reputable children's residential care provider for a Deputy Manager to join their SEMH home in Congleton.

This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced Deputy Manager looking for a fresh challenge or a Senior/Team Leader who is ready to take the next step into management.

Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in leading the staff team, maintaining high standards of care, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations, and creating a safe, nurturing environment where young people can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home.
  • Lead, motivate and supervise the residential care team.
  • Ensure the home remains compliant with Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Quality Standards.
  • Promote positive outcomes for young people through a therapeutic and child-centred approach.
  • Support staff development through coaching, supervision and performance management.
  • Assist with care planning, safeguarding, risk management and quality assurance.
  • Act as the Manager in the Registered Manager's absence.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working within a children's residential care setting.
  • Experience in a Senior Residential Support Worker, Team Leader or Deputy Manager position.
  • Good knowledge of Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Quality Standards.
  • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Level 5 or willingness to work towards it is desirable).
