Job Description

Children's Support WorkerLocation: Bournemouth, England Pay: £12.70 - £13.00 per hour (plus £63 per sleep-in shift) Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week) Are you patient, empathetic, and ready to make a lasting impact in the lives of vulnerable children affected by trauma and complex needs? We are currently recruiting dynamic, caring, and experienced Children's Support Workers to join a dedicated team at a unique 3-bedroom children's home in Bournemouth. The home supports children with learning disabilities and is committed to creating a safe, nurturing environment both inside and beyond the home. What We Offer:

Shift Pattern:

  • 3-week rolling rota including sleep-ins
  • Typical shift: 7:00am to 7:30am (with sleep-in)
  • One weekend in every three Example rota:
  • Week 1: 2 days (e.g., Wednesday & Friday)
  • Week 2: 2 days (e.g., Tuesday & Thursday)
  • Week 3: 3 days (e.g., Monday, Saturday & Sunday)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a corporate parent, providing care and emotional support
  • Assist with cooking, cleaning, homework, and recreational activities
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children
  • Maintain high standards of documentation and reporting
  • Support children with appointments and health checks
  • Apply therapeutic approaches including the PACE model to support children who have experienced trauma

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year experience working with children in a support setting
  • Full UK driving licence
  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) preferred
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom
