At the Jewish Family Centre, we provide safe, child-focused contact services for families where children are not living with one or both parents. Our aim is to support children in maintaining meaningful relationships with their families in a secure, welcoming, and supportive environment. We are proud to be registered with the National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC), ensuring that our services meet nationally recognised standards of quality, safety, and good practice.
Responsibilities- Welcome children and families and help create a calm, friendly atmosphere.
- Supervise contact sessions in line with the organisation's policies and procedures.
- Observe interactions objectively and accurately record factual information during and after each session.
- Promote the safety and wellbeing of children at all times.
- Respond appropriately to any concerns and report safeguarding issues in line with organisational procedures.
- Maintain professional boundaries and treat all families with dignity, respect, and impartiality.
- Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and families.
- Attend induction, mandatory training, and volunteer meetings as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection requirements.
- Carry out the role in accordance with the organisation's values, policies, and health and safety procedures.
Most contact sessions take place on Sundays or after school hours during the week.
Group SupportVolunteer supervisors join a dedicated WhatsApp group where upcoming contact sessions and volunteering opportunities are shared. Volunteers can indicate their availability for individual sessions, providing flexibility while ensuring that each contact session is appropriately staffed.
Inclusive ServiceAlthough the Jewish Family Centre is a Jewish community organisation, our Child Contact Service is open to families of all faiths, backgrounds, and communities. As a registered member of the National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC), we are committed to providing an inclusive, impartial, and child-centred service that is accessible to anyone who meets our referral criteria.
