POSITION PURPOSE

A Business Risk Analyst is sought for the EMEA region (including UK), based in London and reporting to the Senior Business Risk Manager EMEA. The EMEA Business Risk team is part of Enterprise Risk Management department, which sits in the second line of defence in the firm's 'Three Lines of Defence' risk management model.

This role will be highly visible, requiring interaction with stakeholders across all business functions, products, markets, services, technologies, and business policies/practices. The individual must be an independent, self-starter who is able challenge senior management constructively and effectively. In addition to EMEA stakeholders, the individual will partner with global risk counterparts and contribute to developing and embedding the risk management framework and methodologies. Key responsibilities include involvement in the preparation for senior risk committees, the Individual Capital Adequacy and Risk Assessment ("ICARA") and the Wind Down Plan for the T. Rowe Price International Ltd (TRPIL) entity.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Support the development and embedding of the risk framework across EMEA, including the firm's risk statements, tolerance, etc.
  • Facilitating risk and control assessments across the region
  • Risk reporting and analysis for legal entity Boards and the International Risk Committee
  • Support the preparation of the ICARA and accompanying risk disclosures for T. Rowe Price International Ltd
  • Support the preparation of the Wind Down Plan for T. Rowe Price International Ltd
  • Oversight of the use of the operational risk management system (Archer) in the region
  • Provide support to US and APAC Business Risk teams, as needed, in the execution of 2nd line of defence activities such as incident management, risk assessments, and ad hoc projects.
  • Coordination with other risk functions, including Global Privacy, Business Resilience, and Investment Risk.
  • Support and/ or lead risk reviews and deep dives as necessary.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Relationships - Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with other risk managers and stakeholders across all functions, providing valuable second-line risk input and challenge. A high degree of professionalism required.
  • Reporting - Strong analytical, written communication and presentation skills to identify risk trends, root causes and mitigations.
  • Risk oversight - Ability to understand and convey complex matters relating as part of incident management oversight, coordinating with all functions on the reporting, investigation and escalation of operational incidents.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge and experience of FCA ICARA and wind down planning requirements, particularly risk modelling. Knowledge and experience of risk and control assessment methodologies.
  • Proven experience in a second line of defence operational risk role
  • University degree
  • Asset management experience
  • Accountancy or risk analyst qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CFA)
