Bursar
Posted 1 hour 3 minutes ago by Christ's College Cambridge
Christ's College is recruiting a Bursar from January 2027.
Reporting to the Master and accountable to the Council and the Governing Body of the College, the Bursar is the senior administrative and financial officer of the College. The Bursar plays a central role, alongside the Master and other College Officers, in the leadership of a diverse College community of students, Fellows, affiliates and staff.
The Bursar is responsible for helping to develop and execute College strategies in support of the College's core mission, set out (in Latin) in Statute in 1506: 'the promotion of education, research, teaching and religion' ('religion' - more helpfully translated these days as 'civic responsibility').
The post offers a range of governance, management, operational and financial responsibilities in the stimulating environment of a self governing College, with over 500 years of intellectual tradition. Applicants should have experience at senior level in managing people and money and should have a proven track record of strategic planning, and strong skills in project management.
The successful applicant will be elected to a Fellowship of the College.
The stipend of the Bursar will be £108,153 per annum (this figure equates to spine point 77 on the University's single salary spine point chart). The University's single salary spine point chart is reviewed on 1 August annually.
