As a Barista at Sodexo, you'll craft exceptional coffee and serve delicious food from our diverse menu - think cakes, sandwiches, wraps, paninis, and toasties. Located at Royal Stoke Hospital, you'll help create a welcoming environment that eases the stress of hospital visits by offering warm hospitality and friendly, professional conversations with patients, staff, and visitors alike.

What you'll do
  • Prepare and handle retail/food produce for daily service, ensuring correct storage, stock rotation, allergen safety, and compliance with Sodexo standards
  • Deliver excellent customer service, operate and balance the till accurately, and upsell products to drive sales growth
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, personal hygiene, uniform presentation, and a safe working environment
  • Manage stock levels, promotional activity awareness, and minimise waste or spoilage across all retail areas
  • Participate in required training, appraisals, and competency checks, and support management with additional duties as needed
What you bring
  • Previous experience in food preparation and service within a fast-paced, customer-facing food or retail environment
  • Barista/Costa coffee experience desirable, with Level 2 Food Safety preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage customers and work with teams at all levels
  • Well organised, self motivated, and able to manage time effectively while working under pressure
  • Positive, flexible team player with a willingness to learn and develop in the role
