Barista

Purpose of the Role

As a Starbucks Barista, you will deliver an exceptional customer experience, serving high quality beverages and food in a friendly and efficient manner. You will contribute to a welcoming and safe environment while supporting the team and the store's operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service.
• Take accurate orders and operate the point of sale system.
• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, specialty drinks, and food items according to Starbucks recipes and standards.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of work areas, equipment, and customer spaces in line with health and safety standards.
• Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels to ensure smooth store operations.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and provide support during busy periods.
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including cash handling, safety, and food hygiene requirements.
• Assist with training of new team members when needed.

Person Specification / Skills and Qualifications Essential:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, customer focused attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multitask effectively.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic cash handling and transaction processing skills.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move stock when necessary.
• Willingness to follow company standards and maintain quality and safety practices.

Desirable:

• Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or food service.
• Knowledge of coffee preparation and brewing techniques.
• Experience in a team oriented environment.
