Located in the heart of Birkdale, The Upsteps is a staple of the local community. Known for our welcoming atmosphere, live sports, and well-kept ales, we are a busy neighborhood pub that prides itself on exceptional service. We are currently looking for motivated and outgoing individuals to join our bar team.

The Role

As a member of our bar staff, you are the face of The Upsteps. You will be responsible for ensuring all guests have a fantastic experience, whether they are in for a quick pint or a long afternoon with friends.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Provide a warm, friendly, and efficient service to all patrons.
• Drink Preparation: Serve a variety of draught lagers, cask ales, spirits, and wines to high standards.
• Maintenance: Keep the bar and floor areas clean, tidy, and safe at all times.
• Transactions: Process cash and card payments accurately using our EPOS system.
• Compliance: Adhere to all licensing laws and Challenge 25 policies.

• Communication: A natural "people person" who enjoys interacting with locals and newcomers alike.
• Resilience: Ability to work effectively and stay calm during peak times (weekends and match days).
• Reliability: Someone who is punctual and takes pride in their work ethic.
• Flexibility: Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
• Previous experience in a high-volume pub environment is preferred but not essential for candidates with the right attitude.
